We CAN Do Better

The North Region SELPA staff and all member Districts stand united with students, staff, local communities, and everyone across the U.S. who has experienced racial bias, violence, or discrimination. I challenge myself and those around me to go further with our actions to stand up to bigotry, hatred, and intolerance. I hope when we look back on 2020 we see how the focus on two viruses (that of Covid-19 and that of systemic racism) caused a tipping point toward making our society a healthier one. In the meantime, we take action as individuals, schools, districts, and communities to refuse (and support others to refuse) racism in our educational mission, because it starts with the words and actions we use to support children. Our influence and responsibility are huge because children look to us for models on "how to be." -- Katy Babcock, North Region SELPA Director.

National Occupational Therapy Month

During the month of April, Occupational Therapy Month recognizes all the benefits this specialized healthcare provides. They know the therapies to help improve weakened muscles and alternatives when others fail us. For every age and ability, occupational therapists provide care to improve the quality of life for each patient. Throughout the month, recognize an occupational therapist you know.
