The North Region SELPA sponsors a variety of specialized learning opportunities designed to continually increase the capacity of all educators to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.

The SELPA coordinates five professional learning groups that meet several times each year:  1) Behaviorists; 2) Psychologists; 3) Speech-Language Pathologists; 4) Specialists that work to develop students’ motor skills (Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists and Adapted Physical Education teachers); and 5) Assistive Technology Specialists.

Ongoing training on nonviolent crisis intervention, transition to adult living, and up-to-date information about disabilities and related specialized instructional strategies are provided at no, or low cost to staff.  Often, staff from neighboring SELPAs participate in North Region SELPA training sessions and increase the opportunity for collegial learning.
